Spring 2021
If you are employed by NN, you automatically build up pension rights for your own pension. Your pension plan will also provide your partner with a pension, in the event that you pass away. This could be subject to conditions.
Your partner is entitled to receiving partner pension if you and your partner are married, have a registered partnership or living together without a cohabitation contract. Is your partner automatically registered with the pension fund? No, not in all cases!
Married or registered partners: automatic registration
If you and your partner are married or have a registered partnership, your municipality will report this to us. You do not need to take any action.
Do you have a live-in partner? You will need to take action
Are you and your partner living together without a cohabitation contract? If so, don’t forget to register your partner at the pension fund. It's easy – all you need to do is fill out this form and send it to us. If you meet the conditions, we will inform you.
Everything you need to know about partner pension
Our website provides details on what your pension plan will provide for your partner, not only during and after your employment but also after you have retired. The amounts of your partner’s pension benefits are specified in your Uniform Pension Overview (UPO) and on www.mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl.
Government benefits
If you pass away, your partner might also be entitled to receiving benefits from the Dutch State under the Surviving Dependants Act (ANW). Note that certain conditions apply. The ANW is administered by the Social Insurance Bank (Sociale Verkeringsbank). For more information, visit www.svb.nl/en.
